How Fig & Bloom is responding to the COVID-19 situation

We are still delivering

During these uncertain and challenging times you can rely on Fig & Bloom to deliver your messages of love & support. With so many of you working from home, isolated from colleagues and friends, there has never been a more important time for flowers.

They say that a picture says a thousand words. But a beautifully arranged, perfectly delivered bouquet says so much more. We deliver a personal connection every time we deliver flowers. Whether it’s “Get well soon“, or “Wish I could be with you” or even “Happy (isolated) Birthday!“. With flowers you can always say a bunch.

This virus is serious and health risks are real. However, right now it is important for everyone to remain calm, exercise patience and meditate on the better parts of humanity.

We are in this together and we’ll come out together. “Normal” is history, but life finds a way.

We will emerge from this experience in a better place than we started, with a deeper appreciation for what really matters in life. Family, friends and good health.

Some things change, others stay the same

Our flower and gift delivery service continues as normal but we have suspended sales from our physical stores in Alexandria (NSW) and Kew (VIC).

Please order online or via phone because our studio doors are now closed until further notice.

Our contact number in Melbourne (03) 8899 6972 & our Sydney number is (02) 8880 9441.

Contact-Free Delivery

Every delivery from Fig & Bloom is now “contact-free”.

Contact-free means that in the preparation and delivery of your order, there is:

  • no contact between our floral designers and drivers; and
  • no contact between drivers and recipients

Our flower studios have been cleanly divided into a production area for designers and dispatch area for drivers. We place finished orders in the driver area and have scheduled drivers so there is never more than 1 driver in the studio at any time.

All of our drivers have completed the COVID-19 Infection Control training program developed by the Australian government. This training course is available online.

When arriving at the delivery address of the recipient, our drivers will:

  • call recipient to advise that the delivery has arrived;
  • leave the flowers at the doorstep; and
  • step back two or more meters and wait for recipient.

If the recipient doesn’t answer but the flowers can be left safely, the driver will leave them a safe position and message the recipient. If we cannot leave the flowers safely, they are returned to the studio and contact the sender to organize re-delivery.

Safety Precautions

Within our store we have adopted a range of safety measures to protect the health & well being of staff and to minimise the risk of contracting or transferring COVID-19.

We have completely changed how we do things. For example,

  • staff members who rely on public transport have been asked to work from home;
  • we have commenced daily temperature testing for all staff to catch any infections early; and
  • we are disinfecting all work surfaces, handles and tools twice per day

With the evolving public policy environment, business operating conditions are not 100% clear and there is a possibility that we will need to suspend delivery services in future. However, we intend to continue operating in a safe and sensible manner until police requires otherwise.

If you have any questions about your order or using our services, please send an email to [email protected] or call us on the phone numbers above.

Stay calm, and stay safe.

Much love,

Kellie, Dan & the team at Fig & Bloom.
